  8. PrintManager v39 is a so called printer-spooler, it intercepts all printer.
  9. device calls to the parallel-/serial.device and saves the printer specific 
  10. raw data to a file. This way, programs sending data to the printer don't have 
  11. to wait for the slow printer to continue. PrintManager also gives you some 
  12. control over the data send to the printer. You can even print files directly 
  13. from inside PrintManager using the datatypes-system.

  16.  ° caches only printer.device calls
  17.  ° can cache all calls to parallel-/serial.device
  18.  ° allows to exclude certain tasks from spooling
  19.  ° nice gui which works with proportional fonts 
  20.  ° files can be printed from inside Printmanager (uses datatypes.lib)
  21.  ° works with datatypes.library v45 (v45 recommend, not required!)
  22.  ° own FAST parallel.device (registered version only)

  24.  ° after reset/crash unfinished printings are recovered

  28. REQUIREMENTS
  29.  any Amiga (compatible) computer with at least AmigaOS3.0 and (of course:-)
  30.  a printer.

  32. NOTE
  33.  Although this program is based on Printmanager 2.0 by Nicola Salmoria, 
  34.  no part of the Printmanager v39 code has been taken from Nicolas
  35.  version (it is a complete new program)!

  37. HISTORY
  38.  39.0 first public release
  39.  39.1 some minor changes, new catalogs (polish and french)
  40.  39.2 bug fix: printing from inside PrintManager didn't work 
  41.       on non cybergfx systems. added version number to
  42.       commodity name. New tooltype DATEFMT. Added function
  43.       to rename jobs.
  44.  39.3 printing text files from inside PrtMan works now. DrawInfo
  45.       wasn't released. Changed GUI of 'rename ...' window.
  46.       Menuitems weren't always disabled/enabled, when the job list
  47.       changed. APPICON=ACTIVE didn't work when all jobs were placed
  48.       below « Next Job ». spool.device could crash the system when
  49.       removed from memory.
  50.  39.4 new print count funtion, internal changes in spool.device. czech
  51.       catalog. APPICONNAME tooltype wasn't saved correctly. SetPUNT
  52.       saved the printer preferences only to ENV:. serbian catalog.
  53.       security requester when trying to remove all jobs from list
  54.       and when trying to overwrite an already existing file by
  55.       'Jobs/Save as ...'. reworked listview. spool.device process
  56.       wasn't removed from memory on expunge. Added a compatiblity
  57.       kludge for printer.device v42, when printing files from
  58.       inside PrtManager (not the best solution yet). Fixed rounding
  59.       error.
